customs
We recommend that you should familiarize yourself with the Ukraine
Customs Regulations, the store, museum hours, and holidays in advance
to visiting the Ukraine. We have listed some of the most common
customs for you to be aware of:
Business hours
Office hours for State and Public Buildings - Monday - Friday -
9:00AM - 6:00PM with a lunch one-hour lunch break at 1:00 - 2:00PM
Shops and stores -10:00AM - 7:00PM. Lunch hour varies from store
to store from 1:00PM to 3:00PM. Some stores are closed on Sunday
and other stores are closed on Monday.
Food stores - seven days a week, 24 hour a day, but there are some
exceptions, they are usually open from 8:00AM to 8:00PM.
Restaurants and cafes - 10:00AM - 11:00PM
Bank hours - Monday - Friday - 9:00AM - 5:00PM - lunch break 1:00PM

National
holidays
Victory Day, May 9
War veterans gather at Nakhimov square, in the main streets, and
parade along the streets. They celebrate the Ukrainian liberation
from the fascist German invaders. There are numerous Festivities
and concerts everywhere throughout the city, and in the evening
at 10:00PM, the magnificent fireworks are set off. This is a real
crowd pleaser as veterans remember the roar of the war weapons,
and others watch the brilliance of the magnificent dazzling explosions
as they vividly display their brilliance far into the night skies.
Children’s Day, May 19
Our children participate in competitions and display their talents
in concerts along the streets of our city.
Sevastopol’s Birthday, June14
Everyone goes to the bars and disco houses so that they can watch
the spectacular firework
display in the harbor, at 10:00PM. The celebrations usually continue
for two days.
Navy Fleet parade of Russia, held on
the last Sunday of July
Tourists and citizens alike try to get Sevastopol to see this spectacular
display that takes place in the harbour. At 10:00PM there is a marvellos
firework display in the harbor and on the ships in the harbor.

Since 1997, we have celebrated this holiday, it is comprised of
parade of marching bands, and the usual parade displays within city,
and display of boats and ships is presented out in the harbor. Once
again in the evening at 10:00PM an extremely wonderful fireworks
display is touched off out in the harbor for everyone to enjoy.
